DIY Thinset Candles

General Summer distractions have been keeping me busy. Nothing major, mostly just too hot to move.

The bathroom reno goes but goes slowly. Hopefully, maybe, if all goes well, fingers crossed, we’ll be done in a few more weeks. In the mean time, here is a little side project that came out of doing the tile.

I took all the extra thin-set and scooped it into empty plastic tubs, then inserted used tea-lights.


After drying overnight, the concrete popped right out … ok, they popped out after I threw them on the patio a few times.


Removing the tea-lights was a little tricky. Using needle-nose pliers I bent the metal cups inwards until it loosened and came out.



And here is how they turned out:

candles candles 2 candle 5I think they are cute. I love all the nooks and crannies, its rustic and a good way to use a material that would otherwise have gone to waste.
